S1100

“I purchased this a while back in a lot of rack gear with the intentions of fixing it back up.

I believe it has a problem with the power board. When connected to power and powered on there are no lights on the front panel at all. But if you have headphones connected you can hear a little bit of scratchiness with the volume pot when turned. Also when powered up there is a red light on inside the machine on the PSU board.

I have changed nothing since purchasing. Quite possibly it could just need a recap.

Unsure if the backlight is functional but there is a good case that it isnt.

Also there is a crude modification to what looks like an old harddrive. Please see the photos for more info.

It also has a little sticky residue on the front and a little ding on the top. Everything else looks in tip top shape and nothing looks to have been removed from the unit.

Just been refurbished and upgraded with a brand new high contrast LED display and an internal SCSI2SD drive, mounted on the rear panel for easy access to SD card and USB. The original floppy drive has been retained and I am also including a huge vintage library of floppy disks (around 200 in two boxes). These are a mix of original Akai factory sounds and custom samples. I’ve transferred a few of the floppies to the SD drive just to test everything and it is all working well (some of the floppies are a bit dodgy due to age, but most of the programs/samples load no problem). “I have had this in the attic for almost 20 years. I plugged the power in and the screen just goes black when i power it on.

As you can see the “Data” dial is missing and the right 1/4″ jack input socket seems to be missing/damaged.

“My much loved Akai S1100 Midi Stereo Digital Sampler with Iomega SCSI hard drive extension.. full working order, floppy drive tested as shown in photos. Comes with some sample diskettes and manual. Condition is “Used” there’s a little wear to the knobs (pictured) and marks to the outer casing from other rack mount units. Overall very clean and tidy and looked after. Needs to go to a good home, will be well packaged and is very heavy”
