MPC 2000

Selling because I don’t use enough.

Used with aged related marks but operates smoothly.

Pros:
– Pads feel great
– 8 output
– Comes with SD card adapter
– OS is for MIDI compatibility
– Recently had new data wheel sensor/button fitted

Cons:
– Screen has lines and could do with a new one
– Face plate for floppy drive is missing (doesn’t affect operation)

Pads are solid & not faded, contacts worked perfectly the last time I’m played them.

New “blue” fader piece

Comes with the infamous 8 outputs already installed (with the digital as well).

I’M also including a 100 MB ZIP DISK DRIVE, scsi cable for connection to the MPC & a couple Zip disks.

Unit is sturdy & has never been dropped or bumped up. It’s basically sat in my studio from the early 2000’s to now!

This AKAI MPC 2000 Sampler comes AS IS (the price reflects the work that’s needed on it!)

Here’s what it needs to get back working:

– OS floppy disk 💾 (it’s not reading the old one I have for some reason) (I’ve seen that you can replace the floppy drive with a compact flash drive & it’s not too expensive)

Here’s some things it needs to be bullet proof!

– there’s about 3-4 pixel lines from age (yu can still read the screen info, but a new screen would level up the unit to Avengers status! Lol)

– the “shift” button is a little stiff (it just needs to be cleans underneath and possibly a new contact installed)

FYI, I’m not a master at this machine & I’ve never gotten the sequencers “song mode” to work.

“This unit was only gently used and then stored. I can no longer find the biscuit. It powers up fine and when it was put away everything worked perfectly. It is in very good cosmetic condition with only one area on the side panel where there appears to be some old paint.

“These 2 mods allow you to boot the mpc, store and save your sounds/samples without the traditional floppy drive the mpc 2000 was made for. If one fails for any reason, you have a backup available at your disposal.

The ZuluSCSI is from BOOT DISK AND CHILL. Its preloaded with sounds already for you to use. You can take the microSD out and plug into your computer to add your sounds as well.

Which ever you decide to boot from, the other must be detached from the MPC so it knows where to boot from.

For the ZULUSCSI, DO NOT unplug the SCSI while the MPC is turned on, the MPC 2000 classic specifically is NOT hot swappable. You will blow the fuse and have to repair it or power the SCSI via microUSB

DEFECTS:
• There are knobs missing on the main volume button and rec gain(top left 2nd slide)

•The note variation slider is broken and knob is missing.(bottom left slide 2/ slide 5

If using the gotek usb, you have to power on mpc without it first, THEN insert it after mpc gives you the disk read error. Again you’ll have the Zuluscsi that’ll boot and read straight away not needing the gotek.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

” I just picked this up from a studio sale. Everything was kept very well including this sampler it’s in great shape as shown it powers up and is asking for a disc which I do not have ,so I am selling as for parts or repair. “Clean unit , from smoke free environment, floppy drive works , comes with is disk , screen is perfect no lines , samples in fine and plays samples back fine. The last picture I put red x’s on the gray drum pads that don’t work. A new drum pad sheet is $80 bucks online .

Otherwise the unit works great all the buttons and knobs function fine.

Unit has one minor issue :

Please understand that the drum pads red x marked don’t trigger sounds will need new drum sensor sheet.
