“Akai S1100 Sampler, amazing condition. Arguably the best sounding sampler Akai ever made, this has been looked after and sat in my rack for years unused. Absolutely zero wear to decals, the front panel looks brand new (see photos). Comes with Akai MPD16 controller and MIDI cable, use them paired together with a sequencer, basically got yourself an MPC. Regrettable sale as is such a great example of a legendary sampler, but is taking up room so needs must. Unit is 100% operational but backlight has gone so that will need replacing. “I’m clearing out a lot of old kit from my home studio as I have just run out of room!

Here’s an Akai 1100 sampler. It’s been sat around and not used for several years. It’s in working order, and responds to MIDI as it should. Though, when I powered it up today I noticed that the display is really dim and not easily readable. I suspect the backlight has stopped working.
I believe this is a fairly straightforward fix.
I haven’t been able to test the floppy drive today, as I can’t find any floppy disks, but it did read a disk the last time I tried it.
