Akai X7000

“Akai X7000 sampler keyboard vintage and rare.

As with most of these old samplers that use the QD Quick Disk system the drive is not working. This machine would really benifit from a USB drive which is available on e bay, buy as it stands you can’t save samples.

(Hence low price)

However the great news is, it is in pretty good shape and working well.

Included is the original manual and an output expander. The sound of this thing is very cool old school /grainy Lo Fi and has a lovely filter great for short drum loops or synth stabs!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

Akai X7000 Project Machine

“Akai X7000 Sampling Keyboard.

Rescued from a guy’s lockup who used to produce music in the 90s.

As you can see, it is looking very sorry for itself with knobs missing and 6 broken keys.

I wanted to get this restored some day for myself but need to clear some space.

Totally untested as the previous owner has done something very odd with the wiring where the kettle lead normally goes. I haven’t even dusted the thing down!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

Akai X7000

“I am reluctantly having to sell my Akai X7000 sampler. I have had this keyboard completely overhauled and serviced. Everything works perfectly, all buttons work as they should. The case is in very good condition as is the keyboard. I have had a contact strip serviced and cleaned. The LCD display is perfect and the backlight is fine.

The biggest upgrade on this keyboard is that I have had the notorious quick disc drive removed and upgraded with a USB drive. You can store up to 100 floppy discs on one USB stick. I have one with it with 99 quick discs on it. This will be included.

The keyboard is from the mid to late 80’s. If you know about this keyboard then you will know of the superb 12 bit sound that it produces.

The keyboard comes complete with an anti-static dust cover as seen in the photograph and I also have a padded carry case for it.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

Akai X7000

“Akai Professional X7000 Sampling Keyboard . Condition is For parts or not working. Powers on. Lcd screen lights up but with no text display. This is the expanded model that holds 16 samples. Comes with the multi out lead that connects to other Akai gear of that period. QD needs fixing(rubber band). Comes with approx 50 QD disks. Also has firmware chip to enable transfer samples via midi dump to computer. Lovely 12 bit sound and warm filter. The in built sine wave is a lovely bass sound used in a lot of drum and bass.
