“AKAI S3000XL Sampler + Manuel – Not booting past Hard Disk Skip screen.

Won’t boot past the Hard Disk Skip screen – I know this is a SCISI fuse but I don’t have the time or knowledge to replace it inside.
The screen is quite dim and backlight could do with replacing.

Sampler has 16mwords memory (32mb)

The following ports & functions have been tested and confirmed in good working order: Phones out, L/R Stereo Out, L/R Inputs, floppy drive and basic sampling functionality/menu navigation. It’s likely that everything else is working too, just untested by me. Please refer to the bottom paragraph of this description before bidding.

The screen is dim, but still legible. I’d highly recommend getting a replacement LCD if you’re planning to use the unit long term. The unit also exhibits screen whine, an extremely common issue with the S3000XL even when factory new, apparently caused by the LCD backlight. This is a high-pitched whining noise that happens consistently when the display contrast function is activated. A replacement screen should fix the issue but bear in mind I’m not an expert.
Used in a working studio environment for some years. Some cosmetic issues (see photos), likely caused by repeated racking and re-racking over the years, but in a good condition for a unit of this age. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

new screen backlight , old inverter make a quit whine after screen backlight replacement but its hardly noticeable and doesn’t come through the audio cable

The sampler is in good condition but it does have a few issues and has only been power tested:

– Floppy drive door won’t open to insert a disc

– SCSI fuse has blown (won’t get passed disc waiting)

– Backlight very dim

– Only has 2MB of RAM and running OS 1.5.”
