“This was found in university storage, powers up and appears to load stuff, but screen is very dark and can’t test this further to see what it does.
Offered as spares and repair.

“One of the best samplers from the 90s. This is essentially 2 akais for 16 outputs in mono or 8 in stereo.
Has some of the best a/d converters and is also one of the first samplers to have in built fx, the pitch shift is amazing.
As used by a lot of jungle artists and also liam from the prodigy.
These units have the standard 2mb memory in them each. You can pick up extra memory cards on here if you need them.
Screen is a timy bit dull but has been fine for me when working with it.”

The last truly great AD convertors in an Akai sampler, the thing sounds incredible. Comes with extra ram.
Has usb card installed instead of the floppy so you can have thousands of flooppys on one dongle.

“AKAI S1100
Great sampler, probably up there with the S950 in terms of character, punch and usefulness! but obviously not quite there in terms of studio must have fashion itemability……..yet. To be honest they are both very different beasts but the S1100 is more versatile in my opinion.
This one is fully working apart from the floppy drive, but the scsi port has been tested and works fine with my Zip drive and it includes a tiny internal drive (on the internal scsi connection). The backlight as on all these old Akai samplers is very dim. It has 8mb of ram and it’s in very nice cosmetic condition.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Needs backlight (£25 ebay) and floppy drive not working. Has not been used for a while. It did boot up and can be used with an iomega zip 100 drive (£5 ebay).
