” Up for auction is a blue/red Akai MPC 1000 music production center. First and foremost, the functionality of this machine is what i’d say 85% there. The pad bank buttons are loose, but do trigger efficiently, you just need to give them a hard press. The data wheel is the biggest functionality problem, as it is kinda ” skippy ” and tends to skip over values pretty often, but you can get it to select the value you want. All of the pads trigger samples perfectly, with the exception of pads 1 and 3, which need hard taps to trigger efficiently.

Cosmetically, the machine is in rough condition. There are lots of surface marks all over this machine, as seen in the photos. The red side panels are the only parts of this machine free from marks/scratches.

Please be aware that 128 MBs of memory is installed, as well as the latest operating system.

This thing was used on so many records I did. It’s amazing.
The circuit board under the jog wheel is the main thing you will
need to replace to get this thing working. And some buttons.

The screen has a piece of tape holding onto it (pictured in back)
because the gears lock up and the screen will get stuck up in travel
(have the tape there for safety)

I was just using the machine until several months ago.
Hate to let it go, but it would be great to repair your other 2500
or vice versa.

Lots of scratches all around including the screen,
but it powers up just fine. Mainly you won’t be able
to use the jog wheel because the circuit board underneath

“Akai MPC1000 in Black with 128Mb official Memory card and JJOS 3.16(operating system) installed.

Its in Good condition, it had a little touring action many years ago, but nothing stressful, especially by MPC standards.
A few scratches on the front panel where the memory card slots is, the top plate is all good, screen has no scratches. (please study the pics)
I removed the top and gave it all a good blow with compressed air and wiped down the pads.

From powering it up for the first time in a few years it auto-loaded from the card. I sampled , sliced and put together a beat, assigned the sliders to filter and it all ran smoothly with that nice MPC heavy sound
The down select button is a little stiff but it gets there on 2nd/3rd push, its really not a problem and was working much better after a few minutes using it.

No box , no Manual just the kettle lead and memory card.

I forgot how strong that MPC sound and swing is. nice loud sample input and that sequencer is second to none. Im using Maschine nowadays, and it doesn’t come close. However there is no room for more kit in studio so it has to go.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay
