” Up for auction is an Akai MPC 1000 Music Production Center. 32-voice stereo sampling, 64-track sequencing, and 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive MPC pads. Aside from a small scratch on the screen(view pictures), the unit is in excellent condition. (Not sure how the scratch got there. Maybe when I was doing the upgrades.) Shortly after purchasing, I switched to a computer based DAW. This has been in storage most of the time. I would guess less than 100 hours of use. Akai OS v2.13. 128mb memory expansion installed. 80GB internal hard drive. I’m including a 512MB CompactFlash memory card and 3GB’s of the latest sounds from Akai. “If you are looking at this, you know what a beast this machine was and still is. Classic non-reproducible sound. I have had the 2000xl for years now. Used to use it a lot. Upgraded the RAM to 32mb. Never had to replace any pads, buttons, sliders or knobs. The machine works like brand new. And as you can see looks almost brand new. You will be hard-pressed to find another 2000xl in this good of condition. But, as you can see, the only problem with mine is the floppy drive pooped out last year. I have since used it now and again without saving and as a midi controller. I have the old SCSI for a Zip drive I used on it long ago. I also have new floppy disks if you plan to put a floppy drive in it.
