“This is the smallest MPC that AKAI ever made. It can be powered by 6 AA batteries. Everything works perfectly. The unit includes the full 128MB RAM expansion (the chip says 256MB but only 128MB can be accessed). It has also been modified with the Corx pad modification, which makes the pads much more responsive. This modification can easily be removed if you prefer the standard pad action, which in my mind is quite inferior to the Corx. I’m selling the unit to make room for an MPC Live. My loss is your gain. Makes a great MIDI controller as well. The pads are much higher quality on this unit than most MIDI controllers, and the standalone operation is a major plus. “Unit was powered on and connected to an amplifier. All of the functions appear to be working. We tested all the pads and buttons, and all are working well. However, the “Data” wheel doesn’t seem to be working. We are not sure but we didn’t see any response from the “Data” wheel when turned. Also, the sliding knob on the bottom left also appears to have no function in our testing. This is the extent of testing. Therefore, unit will be sold AS-IS. Moderate to heavy cosmetic scratches and wear. There is a small internal crack on the glass display over the LCD. Please see photos for actual condition. I purchased this unit as a package years ago for an upcoming project that never materialized, so I turned it on to make sure everything worked, then stored it and it never got used again. All pads and knobs are fully functional and very operational. It also includes a floppy disk library of various drums/key sounds and an external zip drive with power unit, connection cable to the MPC, and 5 extra zip discs to store your samples/sounds. Sie funktioniert soweit einwandfrei, jedoch gibt sie sporadisch beim Einschalten Knack-Geräusche von sich.
Wiederholt man den Einschaltvorgang, so verhält diese sich normal.
Vermutlich schein ein Elektrolytkondensator defekt zu sein, welcher seine volle Kapazität nicht mehr halten kann.

It works fine as far as it goes, but sporadically makes crackling noises when switched on.
If you repeat the switch-on procedure, it behaves normally.
Probably an electrolytic capacitor seems to be defective, which can no longer hold its full capacity.
