” Akai S1000 Sampler – 6meg, with SCSI port. This machine works fine, though the display is dim, if still legible. Also the floppy drive is faulty. I used it for years without the need of the floppy drive, as I was using an external SCSI HD. Obviously the unit looks its age – btw there are scratches on the top of the unit that are not betrayed in the photos, but they’re not disastrous. “Akai MPC 1000 Sequencer And Sampler Beat Machine.
Powers on. All buttons and levers register a response. The program appears to run well. I don’t know the memory capacity of this unit but very likely has to be upgraded.
Biggest concern is there are 3 missing buttons and 2 mixer toggles missing – see photos (they have been circled in red). Fortunately each button is purchasable online (mpcstuff.com) and on eBay. Each cost roughly $5-$6.
One other small thing is I didn’t line up the cover correctly so it runs against a few of the dials. Once you are ready to install the buttons you can adjust the cover to align better.
Cosmetically I would give it a 6.5, maybe 7 out of 10. Has some wear, some paint rubbed off, scratches here and there. Probably lean closer to a 7.

There are several scratches, lines in the screen, and scrapes, but the item still comes on and functions. There is also a sticker on the front right edge of the unit. It comes with a power cord only. No Floppy disks included”

“It’s in excellent condition to be honest,just a slight ding on the top and a few small cosmetic marks on the front. Looks like the light has gone off but the display is perfectly visible. Also the contrast button works perfect and all the buttons on the front work as well. All the connections on the reverse also look in great condition.

To be honest,it’s a bit beyond my electronic knowledge trying to make this work,even after downloading the manual.
The manual can be downloaded free online.
I’ve had it tucked away for years and think now is the time to sell it because of my technical lack of understanding. So I’m unable to say if it works correctly so it’s listed as spares or repair.
There doesn’t seem to be a serial number on the reverse.”
