“Selling my Akai S3000XL sampler as Ebay gave me a 80% off Sellers Waiver.
On boot up it says `DRIVE NOT READY ! disk removed ?` (see photos) but the internal Compact Flash Drive works perfectly fine with zero issues. Again see pictures as I have partitioned the CF Card from A-P, so you can have say breaks on partition A, Bass on B, Vox on C etc. its a powerful feature in my opinion, and the drive is super fast speed on loading and saving. Seems exactly the same as the Zulu card to me (I have owned one also). Obviously you can have multiple CF cards and interchange them as I have it in the same place as the Floppy drive. I never came up with a permanent fix for access to the CF reader from the front so just used some masking tape – it works.
There is also a different knob on the front for main volume – it works exactly the same.
Screen has plenty of life in it as you can see. I have seen better screens, but also have seen far worse.
All the outputs, MIDI etc all work fine on the back.
