” This auction is for an Akai MPC 1000 in black, with a black backplate — the most recent MPC 1000 version that was made. Everything works great except for a weird and easily bypassed quirk, described below.

The unit has some light wear but nothing major, is very sturdy, and works as expected, except for the following issue: For some reason, the MPC crashes and restarts itself while receiving files over USB. I’m including an external CF card reader that allows you to bypass this issue — simply connect the reader to your computer, pop a CF card in, transfer your files, put the CF card back in the MPC. Good to go. The great news is, this method is significantly faster than the USB transfer process anyway, even if it was working as expected. Of course, if you’ll mainly be sampling directly into the MPC, you won’t even have to worry about any of this.”

“Akai MPC5000 Pads Sampler/Sequencer. Future Classic. Like New. Original Box. UK unit (originally from Andertons).

A wise tale. If I had kept all the hardware synths, drum boxes etc I’d owned, they would be worth a fortune. The MPC5000 was almost the last of its breed, a dedicated hardware sequencer, sampler, beat machine machine and whilst my long gone Juno 60 is worth £5k, there are not many MPC5000s around and seems to be a future collectible. It is a blinding bit of music production kit tbh.

This one is from 2011 (from Andertons with original outer and retail box packaging as per images).

It is in IMMACULATE condition, virtually unused with the LCD screen plastic still on. You can see from the foot pads underneath, it’s not been put much at all.

Comes with mains lead (no manual but available on line). I can provide a USB cable if required and some audio cables of needed (Jack to jack, XLR etc).

It is fully functional, tested, with the factory 64mb RAM and factory Hard disk drive and V2 Firmware.”
