“Up for auction is an MPC 60 II in great working condition! This has the upgraded 3.10 OS, and maxed memory which allows for 26 seconds of sample time. This also has the SCSI upgrade on the back that lets you plug in a SCSI hard disc or zip drive and save to that. On top of this, the unit has brand new pads and sensors, new backlight, includes an extra working backlight, and the “locate” button set array (which I didn’t change as the one on the unit look immaculate). I am also including 3 packs of brand new DS,DD disks for recording (2 opened, 1 unopened), and a stack of beats and sample disks from “BeatBox Pros”. ” For auction is my vintage Akai / Roger Linn MPC 60 MKII sampling drum machine and sequencer. MPC is in excellent condition in and out….display is good and all pads, buttons, pots and input/outputs work. I have installed a RaizinMonster SCSI connector for added flexibility. It has the standard RAM installed for 13.1 seconds of sampling but can be upgraded to 26.2 seconds inexpensively. Comes with the full manual in a binder, power cable and 10 Midimark sound discs for this machine.

“I have an AKAI MPC 60ii MIDI PRODUCTION CENTER Drum Sampler with a whole box of floppy discs included. I powered it up and you can see that it works. In pic 2 you can see the button for the slider for “HIHAT DECAY” is missing but you can still slide it. The floppy drive works, as it registered on the screen. Most of the buttons seem to push and work. I plugged in a set of headphones and all the drum pads seem to work but the “Crash 2″ pad. It pushed but I couldn’t hear it. Maybe because of the really old headphones I was using? I can’t speak to specific operations of this unit as I have only played around with it and am not real familiar with it. This is a legendary piece of equipment! The MPC 60ii has been a vital part of music history, especially Hip-Hop. It’s known for it”s 12 bit sound which definitely shines on drums!

This unit has been upgraded to support the Vimana OS, (3.15 B5), and the floppy drive has been replaced with a Gotek USB Emulator. Also, I’ll include the Floppy drive that was replaced by the USB Emulator.

Cosmetically it’s in good shape. For some reason, there’s glue residue on the top of the unit from someone who decided to glue mini-baseball helmets to the unit.

This unit has a new “Backlight, and it also has the upgraded OS, (3.15 B5), and the floppy drive has been replaced with a Gotek USB Emulator, (SFRM72-FU-DL). The memory hasn’t been upgraded but it’s not that hard to do so yourself.

I love this thing but I’m moving a few pieces of gear to make room for new gear and unfortunately this has to go. Cosmetically it’s in very good shape, especially considering the age of the unit.
