All buttons and pads work and it is original as far as the operating system goes .the backlight is still fairly bright.it has custom hardwood sides
Making it unique and gorgeous. Ive made many songs
With it and it has been a staple in my studio for the past 20 years .ive kept it clean and covered up
On a pedastal .dreading this day would come .
But we now must part .as with all items in the vintage

Akai MPC 60 with Expanded Memory, SCSI, Internal SD Card Reader Project Machine

“AKAI MPC 60 mk1 for PARTS / REPAIR.

Unit has Vimana v3.15 eprom, Memory upgrade, SCSI interface, Stratos AztecMonster SD card upgrade, and white on black Screen from Jazzcat (shown working in this MPC). Original screen is also included.
Everything was working until a ribbon cable from the Sync board got accidentally disconnected while powered on.
I replaced some fuses, I put the original screen back in, disconnected the SCSI interface, but only intermittent lines appear on the screen and no lights work when buttons are pressed. I suspect the Sync board maybe at fault?
I’ve been meaning to get it repaired for a while, but now I’m moving house and I’ve decided to cut my losses and offer it up for parts.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“This unit is clean, fully working, and sounds incredible. To me the sound of this machine is very unique, and has a fat, crunchy, punchy 12 bit signature like no other. It is perfectly paired with the AKAI s950 (which I have listed in my other auctions), but is also fully capable as a stand alone piece.

This unit has been upgraded with the Vimana OS 3.15, and it has it’s memory fully maxed out to an additional 750kb making a full 1500kb available, that’s 26 seconds of sampling power. The Vimana OS makes this machine just like the MPC3000 in terms of features and functions within its hardware limits.

Everything works great on this machine, and it has its share of wear and tear that add to its own unique story. It has a few blemishes, but nothing that affects the performance of this unit whatsoever. It is 30 years old, and has been used for most of these years from what I’ve been told. “PHYSICAL CONDITION: Good – In nice condition. There are quite a few scratches around the item. The main volume knob is missing and there’s a small dent on the upper right corner. Otherwise, all the pads and buttons are intact and looking nice. Overall the condition is good. WORKING CONDITION : Very Good – Has seen a good amount of use, but all pads and all controls are working great. The tip of the hihat decay slider is broken but it still works. Display works great.
