MPC 60

“This unit is in great cosmetic condition. All the buttons are clean and there aren’t any blemishes except for a little bit around the jog wheel. There are scuffs/blemishes on the top/back where the outputs and power are but not on the visible front. The unit is missing the side panels but that does not affect functionality. The unit powers up and loads and is able to navigate through the different screens and menus with no issues. The screen works fine and is visible but could be a little brighter. The OS installed is 2.12 which has a max sample time of 5 seconds. More information on that can be found online. I tested the floppy drive out with a blank floppy disk that I had lying around and I was able to format the disk with no issues. I was not able to test the stereo outputs or individual outputs and also wasn’t able to test the record in or sampling into the unit. I just didn’t have the proper means to do so, so please keep that in mind while making your offer. I’d imagine everything works fine but there is a chance there could be issues I wasn’t able to test.”

“Very nice Akai MPC60 original version Roger Linn. Recently upgraded with new fat pads from MPC Stuff, new transformer to get rid of the hum, and new LCD screen. Unfortunately since then there is one yellowed out line that popped up in the screen as shown in the pics. But this was an easy fix and new screen kits are readily available.

Will include 2x USB drive kits that are supposed to work in these to replace the floppy but I could never get to work. Plus 10 floppy disks with some drums on them. This was my workhorse sequencer for many years and am very sad to see her go, but hoping she can find a good home out there, thanks for looking! ”

“Offered here is my lovely MPC60. It’s a great machine which has been well looked after. Everything works. As you can see the screen has been replaced as the backlight failed on the original. I still have the original screen & that will be included in the sale. I also have lots of floppy discs comprising the original sounds and many more besides. I’ll be sorry to part with it as it has served me well but I’m hardly using it these days. I have owned it from new & apart from the screen replacement, it has not been tampered with. There are quite a few upgrades available and it would probably benefit from some of these but all in all it’s a nice machine in good condition for its age. There is some slight rusting below a couple of the pads..see photos. Collection from TN12/ Maidstone area or can ship. I believe I have the original box!”

“AKAI Professional MPC60.
I do not know how much memory it has or anything else about the technical specs.

It comes only with the unit itself and the attached power cord. No other cords or accessories included. I will repeat the condition information here:

USED – SOLD AS IS. SORRY- NO RETURNS. NO REFUNDS. I bought this used from Sam Ash Music in New York City approx. 20 years ago. They replaced pads and sensors and serviced the unit at that time. I’ve used it very little since. I have no floppy disk or other way to test this. It powers on. It lights up. You CAN read the screen,but it is VERY DIM. It looks brighter in my photos than it is in person because of the flash. It should probably be replaced. It has scratches and abrasions on the edges and elsewhere. Please see photos. It may work fine or it may need servicing. I don’t know. Please bid accordingly.”

This MPC is in great condition cosmetically and was well cared for.

I had the screen replaced so it was brighter, HOWEVER:

After a few months, it stopped showing the screen when turned on. Normally when you turn on these, you are taken to the initial screen. This seems to boot up, bur the display shows nothing. It belonged to a producer that made classic rap records on this unit.

Im pretty sure it is an easy fix, but i no longer have the time to have to work on it. ”
