MPC 5000

“Akai MPC5000 Pads Sampler/Sequencer. Future Classic. Like New. Original Box. UK unit (originally from Andertons).

A wise tale. If I had kept all the hardware synths, drum boxes etc I’d owned, they would be worth a fortune. The MPC5000 was almost the last of its breed, a dedicated hardware sequencer, sampler, beat machine machine and whilst my long gone Juno 60 is worth £5k, there are not many MPC5000s around and seems to be a future collectible. It is a blinding bit of music production kit tbh.

This one is from 2011 (from Andertons with original outer and retail box packaging as per images).

It is in IMMACULATE condition, virtually unused with the LCD screen plastic still on. You can see from the foot pads underneath, it’s not been put much at all.

Comes with mains lead (no manual but available on line). I can provide a USB cable if required and some audio cables of needed (Jack to jack, XLR etc).

It is fully functional, tested, with the factory 64mb RAM and factory Hard disk drive and V2 Firmware.”

“Unit powers on and the software seems to load up properly. There are a few songs in it so we were able to test the stereo right and left outputs on the back, and the phones output jack on the front. All 3 of these output jacks are working. No other input or output jacks were tested. The data jog wheel works as well as the main volume knob. The play and stop buttons work also. No other buttons or pads were tested.

Stated will be known issues we’ve discovered during light testing. Please understand we do not have the capability to fully test this MPC so there could be other issues we’ve yet to uncover. Purchase knowing this unit is AS-IS NO RETURNS.

Known Issue: The Q1 lower left slider is broken off. We have the slider. The Q1 light does not illuminate.

Known Issue: When unit loads it is on Pad Bank “A” by default. You can select the other Pad Banks B, C, and D, but when you try to go back to Pad Bank “A” after selecting any other Pad Bank, it will not go back to Pad Bank “A”.

Known Issue: Sometimes after a song plays for a bit, when you press the stop button, you may still hear audio output for a while. Most of the song stops but a layer or two may keep going.

MPC is in fair cosmetic condition with scuffs and scratches. Mild abrasions here and there along with corner wear. Plastic sides and front have faded. Please view our pictures for the best cosmetic condition description.”

“For sale is an Akai Mpc 5000 in great shape. The original owner spray painted the palm rest and side panels. I replaced them with the original set, used. They are scuffed in some areas but overall look decent. More importantly, the unit functions 100% and was serviced by Bruce Forat at Forat.com. It has the memory expansion installed, CD-Drive functions, and it has the new white LCD installed. The 60GB internal hard drive is loaded with the Mpc 5000 Factory content and more than 16GB of Mpc Expansions and other drum sample content. The Mpc 5000 features it’s own built in synth, making it a truly a powerful standalone machine. With OS 2.0, the bugs were resolved from version 1.0(Just Blaze’s rant). This may be the most slept on Mpc. It is a Mpc 3000/Mpc 4000 hybrid. Connect to computer with USB cable to drag and drop content to and from the internal hard drive and inserted Compact Flash Card.
