“Used MPC 4000 up for sale. CD Drive does not work. The Black Right Panel is loose from installing new hard drive. All buttons and pads work. But these are all the original buttons, pads, and knobs, so some will be very worn. Play, Rec buttons are very worn. Power button works, but is worn. “IMPORTANT: This is a collect in person auction only as I don’t have a suitable box and it is a heavy item.

The MPC 4000 is the most feature packed and highest resolution sampler Akai Japan ever made. Sonically and functionally it is leagues above the Numark era MPCs that followed it.

The MPC is in fantastic used condition with very few signs of wear. It was serviced a few years ago by Synth Prof who also fitted a new 80 GB hard drive. Unfortunately pad 12 has started becoming a little bit intermittent in its response, but the others work perfectly, which suggests the sensor sheet may just need to be cleaned.

On the upside this MPC is virtually maxed out, minus the 8 output card. The LCD has many hours of life left in it, but as a bonus I am including a brand new replacement screen which costs over £250. It has the ADAT board fitted which costs £350 and is the most sought after upgrade. RAM is also maxed to 512MB.

I will leave a great collection of samples on the hard drive and also include a SATA to IDE adapter in the event that the buyer wants to fit an SSD. The manual, power cable and a wireless keyboard for ease of naming samples and programs is included.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

“Up for sale is our Classic and amazing AKAI MPC4000 WITH 8 outs.

The hard drive is loaded with killer cuts and samples from some very cool obscure vinyl. Also has other great sounds and drum kits.

ALL the pads, buttons, sliders, knobs and jacks work as they should no issues there. The screen looks great but every once in a while a line will appear for a little bit then goes away. it never gave us any hard trouble. As you can see from the pics.. the display is great.
