This thing was used on so many records I did. It’s amazing.
The circuit board under the jog wheel is the main thing you will
need to replace to get this thing working. And some buttons.

The screen has a piece of tape holding onto it (pictured in back)
because the gears lock up and the screen will get stuck up in travel
(have the tape there for safety)

I was just using the machine until several months ago.
Hate to let it go, but it would be great to repair your other 2500
or vice versa.

“For sale is a used Akai MPC 2500 in perfect working order. Includes a number of upgrades, most of which were imported from the US through mpc-stuff.com:

128MB RAM
CD/DVD drive
IDE to CF adapter in the HDD slot – this allows you to effectively install an SSD by inserting a CF card (in addition to the slot in the front), which does not make noise or generate any heat and will have very quick access times.
Fat pads with extra sensitive corx upgrade
Smooth jog wheel and all new tact switches/buttons. This is a replacement PCB board made by mpc-stuff.com that replaces the original jog wheel (one of the worst features of the 2500 in my opinion) with a smooth and click-less jog wheel, making scrolling through files or navigating the menus much easier. The PCB board also features brand new tact switches which are a lot more reliable and have a nice clicky feel to them.

New black buttons/knobs/faders

All features have been tested – all pads are responsive, all individual outs and inputs are working, all buttons are working and there are no issues with any of the lights or the display. Cosmetically the unit is in great condition apart from a couple of little scratches on the right side of the MPC so these are not noticeable unless you are staring at them – you’ll be too busy making beats and looking at the screen!
