“Every ‘tact’ the mechanical switch you press when you push a button has been replaced – that is 25 tacts, requiring soldering skills and desolder equipment. The tacts have been replaced with Japanese Alps 1million (before failure, vs 5000 presses before failure) press tacts with a much better feel; you press with less force and get a sharper feedback. No other Mpc2000xl presently listed on ebay has had this treatment so should you buy another unit expect stuck buttons, having to press buttons repeatedly.

Slider pot has been replaced

The overdub, rec, play, play start and stop with new button caps at a cost of £60, genuine Akai replacements from USA

” AKAI Professional MPC 2000XL Midi Production Center. Overall condition is good, few blemishes which are depicted. Has an aftermarket disk reader (mpcstuff.com) that when plugged in doesn’t let MPC boot – unplugged it boots fine. I have video of it booting and doing basic functions which can be provided.

“In pretty good condition I am the second owner of this MIDI production center passed down from my brother and its been almost completely unused and sitting on a tableside next to my sp-808 which will also be listed and sold! If buying please please make sure you buy speakers with auxilery outputs fit for it, it takes 1/4 inch jack for L/R on the Akai so i reccommend a adapter for it to go to the speakers! (unless you are interested in getting speakers from me SEPERATE from this listing with the adapters and aux’s included)
