Akai MPC 2000XL with 32MB RAM

2kxl “The legendary MPC2000XL with 32mb expansion. If you want to start messing with some beats then look no further!

A few scuffs here and there, the volume knob and slider have been ever so slightly bent. If the facia was to be removed then this could be resolved as well as giving it a good internal dust off.

I turned it on, sampled, played back and sequenced and formatted a disc, so all in working order.

still have the manual, sound CD, box of floppy disc, even still have the box, although its pretty tatty.

Starting the auction at a low price as I need to make some space and its more important to me that it sells to someone who will get some more use from it.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Akai MPC 2000XL

2jkx “Old MPC2000xl i bought a few years ago but only used once. It’s in pretty good condition except for a crack in the plastic (as you can see from the photos) but the machine turns on. The only other issue I’ve had with this is that i couldn’t get a couple of the pads to work, but you can always buy replacement pads for it.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Akai MPC 2000XL

akaimpc2kxl “Up for sale is an Akai MPC 200XL. I purchased this almost 2 years ago and just kept it around as a spare in case my main XL went haywire. Getting rid of it now because it’s just sitting around collecting dust because I have a bunch of other MPCs.

This unit has a floppy drive installed and I do not have any to include. I recommend upgrading the internal drive to a ZIP drive or grabbing an external SCSI drive of some sort.

To my knowledge there are no real issues. Pads 13 -16 are tricky. I just think it needs to be opened up and have the sensors wiped with a little alcohol. They otherwise function as they should.
The buttons are tactile and functional.
I believe the slider does work, but is just missing the actual fader/knob.
And rather importantly, there are no lines…I repeat NO LINES of dead pixels in the screen as you can see in the pictures. ” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Akai MPC 2000XL MCD with 32MB RAM, 8-outs, Internal Card Reader

mpc2000xlcmd “READ ENTIRE POST. THE UNIT WORKS WITH SEVERAL KNOWN ISSUES. My goal is to be transparent about what is/isn’t working. I can’t guarantee the unit at all, no refunds or returns, period.

Includes 256MB CF card and nothing else. No power cable.

Generally the unit works. The OS boots fine from internal memory (I believe) without the card inserted. There are some sounds/programs on the card as well.

KNOWN DEFECTS: The slider does not work and the cap is missing. The SCSI port looks damaged, I’m not able not test it. If you look inside the CF reader one of the pins looks bent. I still reads the included CF card without error. It’s possibly a pin that’s not used by the MPC(?). I tried putting a 2GB Panasonic SD card into the reader and it DID recognize it as 2GB but got some error when attempting to format. Not sure, but could be issue with size/type of SD card?

What works: All pads work (occasional double triggers), all buttons work, all knobs/dials work. All input/output jacks work OTHER THAN SCSI, Digital I/O, SMPTE (I don’t know if they do, I’m not able to test them). There is some very slight bleed through on the 8 individual outputs, not sure if this is a universal issue with the 2000XL, but you can like faintly hear a couple pads occasionally on outputs not assigned to them. ” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Literally right before listing I tested this unit and it works. ”
