“Vintage AKAI Digital Portable Studio 12, with kettle lead. Some cosmetic wear (red stain and broken button which could be glued), but in good working order. Running Version 2.0 but no JAZ drive as far as I’m aware, although external drives can be attached through the SCSI port.

The DPS12 has the following features:
• The DPS12 includes a hard disk recorder that enables you to perform 12-track recording/playback, and a 20-
channel digital mixer. You can record and mix down on a single DPS12 as if you were using a multitrack
recorder.
• The DPS12 provides you with 12 recording/playback tracks (physical tracks) and 250 data storage tracks
(virtual tracks). Switching among virtual tracks that are assigned to physical tracks allows you to record
multiple takes of the same part or phrase and later select the best take for mixdown.
• The mixer section is fully loaded with EQ, Pan, two AUX sends, and Level capabilities. In addition to 12
TRACK MIX channels that control the output from the recorder tracks, 8 THRU MIX channels are available to
directly control input signals from the INPUT jacks.You can mix down the signal from a connected synthesizer,

“PADS 1,4,5,8,12 AND 16 DO NOT WORK, THE OTHER 10 PADS WORK GREAT! THERE IS SOME TYPE OF INTERNAL SCREEN BURN BUT IT DOES NOT EFFECT READING THE SCREEN THESE ARE THE ONLY REASONS I HAVE IT LISTED AS FOR PARTS OR NOT WORKING! EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS GREAT!! The units in good shape besides that but if you want to put new pad sensors in it and possibly a new screen in it if the screen is an issue to you it will be perfect! I already switched out the floppy for USB and it’s awesome! Truthfully I’ve just been rocking it with just the 10 pads and is it for how the samples sound through it and nostalgic purposes. Akai MPC2000 Classic Studio Plus w/ Gotek USB Floppy emulator drive.USB memory stick with akai software included! I will also include the original floppy disk drive and software disk. MPC 2000 Classic w/ Gotek USB Floppy emulator installed. Literally 100% loaded and fully functional. Great cosmetic shape as well. Is missing power button cap top. Also, the OS that loads off of USB stick sometimes takes a couple minutes to recognize OS and boot. If it doesn’t boot immediately it sometimes reads out “disk read error”. Removing and re-inserting the USB stick and waiting some seconds usually fixes the issue and it loads up fine. Other times, it loads up first time. Saving and loading sounds, programs never have any issues once OS is loaded. Please understand this before purchasing. It may just need a fresh USB stick with loaded OS. Can also load off of SCSI if you have a zip drive. Fun 5 day auction, no reserve!!
