MPC 2000

“I’ve inherited this machine and never used it. I’ve plugged it in and it powers up no problem. You can see the menu clearly in one of the pics. I’ve pressed a few buttons and things light up as you’d expect but I don’t know how to test it further.

Please note that the front panel is missing and the small panel on the top of the machine. I don’t know where they are – this is how it’s come to me. However, it doesn’t look like this affects the performance of the machine in any way. Please note I’m not an expert though.

I’m happy if local people want to come around and test it before bidding. I am assuming it will work fine because the menu lights up but I’m also happy to take a no quibble return if you weren’t happy it with once delivered (buyer pays return postage). “ Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

“You are bidding on a used AKAI MPC 2000, works 100%, was recently serviced and all buttons, pads, and knobs work. This unit has a maximum of 32 megs of RAM. This unit was customized with an LCD case that can be raised/lowered instead of the original flat one.

The LCD itself inside the case is a brand new LCD (with blue background) that uses a new technology instead of the original yellow one which tends to breakdown. The LCD case is not screwed into the unit and can be easily removed if the unit must be opened/serviced in the future.

In addition, this unit was upgraded with a USB floppy emulator which allows to store up to 100 floppy disks on a USB thumb drive (not included). No other options are included.

There are some minor scratches and scuff all around and under the unit but nothing major for a unit from the 90s, see the pictures. The manual can be easily downloaded on the web. A power cord is also included. “ Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

“This MPC still powers on, the screen is fine except for some lines across the top. I tried and tested it and all the buttons. The pad bank is fine, works perfect. The slider is loose. The main volume button works but it’s loose aswel. The dub, record, stop and play buttons work perfect aswel. All other buttons including the rotating wheel work perfect.

However I listed it as ‘for parts or not working’ because it makes a buzz noise once turned on and goes on as you play – it’s rather annoying. I don’t know how to fix it but perhaps someone else will.

“The screen has lines going across it and the Note Variation knob is missing. Everything else on the unit works flawlessly. Im able to load samples and all pads work great.
