AKAI MPC2000 MIDI Production Center w/8 outs, 32MB RAM, Rare. Good Condition!

The screen is perfect EXCEPT is is not backlit. It reads fine, but if you work in the dark you will want a little light to illuminate it. All is in good working order and ready to make some beats!

Comes with floppy Version 1.72

I have a zip drive that was functioning but now is not reading discs. I can throw in 10 previously used zip discs if you will be using these to store sounds.

I installed the AKAI IB-208P 8 output board.

I added the SCSI2SD v5.5 which plugs in to the MPC! You will need an android power cord going to it, but this could be run to the USB port on a surge protector or I would take the USB right to the wall. They don’t recommend going to a computer because I think the power fluctuates more.

New Pad Sensors.

There is no floppy cable, it was used for the 8 out board. The floppy drive is fully functional, but the MPC is booting off the SCSI2SD which has the latest system software.

I will transfer the Chicken Systems Translator to you. It is useful software if you have a fast computer. It is unusable if you have a slow computer. Backups are fast on any computer. Translating from your computer to the SD card is fairly fast on fast machines, but will drive you crazy on a slow machine. I had a mac mini 2012, a 2.5 i5 and it was unworkable. However, a machine I built in 2010 worked great as the processor was a 3.84 i3. This gives the device more modern capabilities if you don’t like to chop on the machine. ”

The 8-output expansion has been harvested from this unit. The seller’s used of the word “flawless” is an interesting choice of words seeing how at least 2 pads are non-functional and the jog wheel is busted up.

“Everything is flawless. Comes with boot floppy disk firmware, power supply and about 10+ blank floppies. Two pads are out though (bottom left and top left corner). Havent used fader. No jog wheel cap but ive been using (included) a plastic pen tip which works just as well.selling for the money”
