“The unit is in good shape aesthetically, and powers up. I have not tested it thoroughly. It uses the ‘original’ pads, and many of them are broken – in other words, about half of them won’t make a sound at all, or will sound if you hit them really hard. It probably needs new pads and sensors. The unit is in good aesthetic shape. The faceplate is near perfect except for a barely-visible smudge. The “stop” button has a scratch on it and some of the buttons could use cleaning.

“Selling my own personal MPC 1000 from Akai. I used to produce music a few years ago. Used it mainly for sampling old school hip hop beats. Unfortunately I haven’t had much time to work on music anymore because I am busy with school and work. But it’s still definitely a fun machine that has an old school vintage vibe. Through wear and tear a couple buttons are sticky and don’t press as well anymore. I bought a desoldering iron (brand new) which I intended to use to repair the motherboard below the buttons. Tutorial Link here:
I never had the time to repair it so I will include the desoldering iron FOR FREE for any future repairs. The tact switches / buttons are about $4 a piece (mpcstuff website has these items listed). “This is a barely used MPC 1000. I did not really learn how to use it , so it saw very little use. There are no scratches on it. The screen is in perfect condition. I have tested it out and it works fine. All pads respond (and sensitivity is adjustable). It is in mint condition or pretty close to it. Included in this bundle is :
