I’m sure you know the MPC1000 – a standalone MPC with a pile of individual outputs, two sets of MIDI I/O, coax SP-DIF I/O, built-in FX, the ability to read/write samples and programs to Compact Flash, internal hard drive, USB, etc, etc.

I bought this MPC1000 new perhaps three years ago. I felt the need to get one before they became completely unavailable, so this has to be one of the last production units made. I’d always intended to use it as a drum machine for songwriting, but life got in the way, so it has sat in a padded flight case in a cupboard pretty much since the day I purchased it!

As soon as I received it I installed an 80GB hard drive, upgraded the RAM to the full 128MB, and put the free version of JJ OS on it. I spent an afternoon doing a guide drum part for a demo I was producing, then put it away so that it didn’t get dirty. For all the classic reasons (mostly a bunch of seemingly more urgent things to do) it never made it out of it’s case again.

Yes I feel pretty stupid, and I’ve finally admitted to myself that it deserves to be owned by someone who will use it more.

“works perfect. new pads/sensors. upgraded screen (original screen included as well) 8 gb sd card for sample or track storage. power supply included. 128 mb upgraded ram. minor scratches. missing one slider knob but still usable as is. Used it flawlessly for several years. only owner. screen, pads, ram and several OS versions included are $450+ alone. JJOS version currently running is 128SP. With the large screen, you need specific OS to take advantage of extra real estate. There are a couple versions to chose from on SD card included. “I’m selling my loaded Akai MPC 1000 with the paid version of jjos. This sampler has 128mb of ram. It works and looks amazing. You truly will not find one nicer. The only flaws are the tiny scratch below the rec gain knob and some minor scuffing on the bottom. This sampler pretty much looks unused. Not all beat up like most on eBay and Craigslist.
