I can get the default sine wave to play so the sound outputs are working. It might be an issue with the usb stick.

“Vintage Akai Midi Digital Sampler S612. The unit is a 19” rack mount measuring approximately (Face 19”) body 17 ¼” X 14 ¼” 3 ½”. I am not familiar with the unit and do not have the equipment to properly test it however I did power the unit through a mixer and amp and produce sound from a microphone. I was not able or capable of testing any of the other functions available. I was able to have the channel led change and have some of the other buttons light up when selected. A few of the pictures show some of the indicator buttons and the record level indicator lighted along with a few different channels indicated on the led. There are a number of scratches on the top of the front panel probably from installing and removing from a rack mount system. This is a vintage used item and does shows signs of use with scratches, mars, etc. This is an older unit and could require some repair service. In addition I do have a video of it playing through a microphone that I would post on you tube for a serious buyer. The unit is being SOLD USED AS /IS.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

“This is a new, unused, Akai MPC 2000 XL Studio version. This model has the eight outs from the factory and 2mb of ram. This unit was purchased new in Florida and sat in it’s box for several years. I’m the second owner and I’ve only turned it on to verify if it works which it does. One flaw that must be noted – the screen is slightly faint. It’s completely functional with no lines but it just runs slightly dim at some angles. I’ve talked to a couple well known MPC experts that informed me that this is caused by it’s overall age and being stored as long as it was in a hot climate. Everything is functional and other than the screen, the unit shows no signs of use or wear. Included is the original box, some paperwork, Akai sound library cd-rom which does show scratches, an iomega zip drive with the power supply, five brand new iomega 100mb zip disks, five brand new in sealed box Fujifilm 100mb zip disks, 50 new Fujifilm floppy disks, power cord, and two sets of new 3 foot 1/4 cables. “Much loved sampler from my studio. Never traveled with it and has remained in a smoke and pet free studio since 1993. Some signs of wear as can be seen in the photos but otherwise in excellent condition. Samples and functions as it should.
