Time to say goodbye to my Akai Z4 Sampler. This is a good, reliable unit and comes with a 40Gb internal HD, and I’ll leave my slightly weird brand of esoteric samples on the disk too.
Unit has been stored in a rack in my studio and very rarely gigged. It is fully functional. It only has the standard stereo outputs (not the 8-outs) but it does have an FX card installed.
Hardware samplers such as this might not fit so well into modern studios, but is a great piece of kit for on the road, or for hardware enthusiasts like me – sadly I need to downsize my studio.
