I haven’t got the foggiest of notions if this actually works..been handed them by a friend who’s son was gonna be the next big time DJ/record producer but as buggered of to South East Asia, Thailand actually, yessssss quite……and after a recent phone conversation informed his father, my friend, to “get rid of them if he likes”…that’s where I come in…
Haven’t got any floppy discs to test and wouldn’t know how to test even if I did !!
but got an appropriate 2 pin power insert and wired up…plugged in and Voila !!….all lights are working, screen commands are clear and when turning large knob…stop that !!….the commands change…other than that I haven’t got a clue what its meant to do, “sample” by all accounts…lead is supplied.
Look lets have it right, this beastly “sampling”, I mean its just not cricket is it…do you reckon for one minute either Bodie (drums and backing vocals) or Doyle (lead guitar and occasional flute) thwarters of wicked anarcho/leftist plots and Ci5’s top “Professional” operatives, would be “sampling” ?….or even Jack Regan (bass) or George Carter (lead vocals & harmonica) head thief takers of “The Sweeney” would be prancing about and twiddling with little knobs and their MIDI’s…(what the bleeding hell is a MIDI when its at home ?)….Course not, they’d be in a proper mans band with guitars and drums etc churning out Rock anthems like “Shuuut it, you slag”.. “Get your trousers on, your nicked” and who can forget their iconic stadium floor shaker “Careful Guv !, he’s got a shooter” ? …..
I see Detective chief Inspector Frank Haskins as their shrewd, no nonsense manager and George Cowley as their hard as nails but fair Glaswegian road manager…..with not a girly “sampler” in sight, In my minds eye I can see that, can you ?…If Abba can get people queueing around the block as holograms then why not the same for….The Guvnors ?
And on a trans Atlantic note…I very much doubt you would’ve found John Wayne while on manoeuvres on “The Sands of Iwo Jima” getting out his MIDI and having a good “sample” with it…not a cats chance in hell would he !!”
