“This is a rare opportunity to purchase a museum condition Akai MPC60 which has not been used other than to be tested or checked (very infrequently). After purchase it appears to have been removed from the box and stored in a custom flightcase.
The unit was purchased new by John Entwistle, bassist from UK rock band ‘The Who’ while on tour in the US 1989-90 and returned with him to the UK. Fortunately he wasn’t a drummer so the kit went unused in storage and life went on. The MPC and other gear was sold after his death in 2002. The unit is stock except for the original Akai memory expansion and runs OS 2.02 as when new. This is probably as close as you’ll get to finding a ‘New’ original MPC60 in the UK or anywhere else. As a US unit it operates on 110-120VAC and requires a suitable step down transformer for use in UK/EU (not supplied).
I do not have proof of the units provenance, but it can be proven with little effort if it really matters to you. I am the second person to acquire this unit since the original owners assets were liquidated by his estate. Selling due to having another (well used) MPC60 and a lacking space. Collection in person only from Camberwell SE5 London, no delivery available. Immediate payment required I will not accept cash on collection. The unit can be seen working when collected. No returns accepted under any circumstances. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay
