” Akai MPC 500 portable sampling drum machine. i’ve had this for a few years now but have shifted over to the dark side and use a model samples for portable work – it’s not as capable as the mpc by a long way but i’m more elektron all round now so it sort of makes sense. the 500 is a really good machine once you’ve got used to the os which is actually better thought out and more accessible than you’re led to believe it’s no 1000 with jjos but it’s not trying to be. all in all it’s in good condition with a few marks here and there but overall it’s clean. if i’m totally honest i thought a couple of the buttons including one of the cursor keys needed and extra push once in a while – something all older mpc’s suffer from but it might just be a case of some contact spray but i want to be upfront about this and have started the bidding lower than otherwise to reflect this. what this machine would really like is to be bought and have someone buy it a few new bits from mpc stuff. it would really like that.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
