“Up for sale is an Akai MPC 3000 Sampler. Very good cosmetic condition for the age (see photos).
Features:
– 32 MB RAM
– OS 3.11
– Voltage 220V
Also included:
– New pad sensors (not installed)
– Tact switches (not installed)
Works well, except for the issues described below. I haven’t tried to fix these issues, some may be easy to fix.
– 1. High pitch noise on the headphones output. The noise is of very low volume, so the headphones output is still perfectly usable. This is a common problem on the MPC 3000: http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=129647
– 2. High pitch noise on the left channel of the record input when monitoring is “on” and no cables are connected to the record inputs. This is not a problem because when line cables are connected to the record inputs the noise goes away.
– 3. The pad sensor sheet needs to be replaced. Four of the sixteen pads don’t respond. A brand new pad sensor is included but not installed.
– 4. The key “Soft Key 1″ works but needs to be pressed hard. It will soon need a new tact switch. I will include a few tact switches in the package. All other keys work fine without the need to be pressed hard.
– 5. The volume control knob as a minor problem: When the volume is at zero, the left channel of the phones and left channel of the main outs can still be heard.
– 6. The disk drive is a little noisy when is reading and writing, but it works fine.
– 7. The plastic side panel (the one on the right) is detached at one point, it has a gap of a few millimeters (see photo).” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay
