“AKAI MPC3000 classic, vintage MIDI Production Center drum machine / sampler / sequencer. This model needs no introduction, it’s been used by many famous artists over the past thirty years and still is a powerhouse today. This can easily be the center of your studio, because it is a sequencer, and a drum machine & sampler – with plenty of MIDI and sync connections. The sound of course is stellar – punchy, huge, detailed drums (and really any other sound that you sample in it). I’ve used this sparingly in my smoke-free / pet-free home studio. The sixteen pads sensors were replaced a couple years ago, so they are responsive and expressive. Functionally everything works on it and has the upgraded Vailixi 3.50 firmware. Cosmetically, there are some scuffs and scratches (see pics), but the display backlight is very dim, although readable in a room with good lighting, or by shining a flashlight / smartphone light on it. In a dark room however it’s very difficult to read it, so at some point you might want to consider replacing it – a new backlight foil costs 65 bucks at MPCStuff. Comes with the power cable, the four factory disks, and five library disks as follows (although of course you can make your own). The manual is freely available in pdf format on the Internet.
