as for me personally- Classic 2k has better sound than the xl version. as an owner of both – this is definitely the impression that I had. possibly Classic 2k is the best sounding MPC from the affordable early series. everything else that sounds really good has turned into a cult and is way out from affordable range. everything produced later lacks something, soundwise, and interface becomes more crammed, cut, and abused.
