“Akai MPC 1000 – For parts or not working
Device powers up but has a fair few issues so will require some fixing up. I got this a year or so ago with the intention of doing the work on it and using it.
The main issue is the pads. They’re totally shot and need replacing. They’re the V1 pads which are notorious for failing over time. I had intended to get the MPCstuff pad upgrade kit but have since bought another sampler so this now needs to find a new home!
This MPC is pretty beat up and has plenty of scratches and chips as well as the plastic side panels being a bit loose. I’ve also noticed it’s missing a couple of screws. One on the underneath and the other next to the CF card slot. The CF card slot eject button has also snapped. It still works if you use a biro or similar.
Please bare all this in mind when bidding.
I’ve given the MPC a quick test and all the buttons, faders and pots seem to work ok – trigger pads are mostly useless.
Pads 2 and 13 don’t respond at all and the other pads require some force to make them respond. I don’t have a CF card to test with but assume the slot works. The screen works but has some weird discoloration in a oval shape on the screen. I’ve tried to get that in the pictures.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay
