“This machine is responsible for entire genres of electronic music and even to this day there isn’t a software “bit crusher” or filter which can match that 12 bit sound.
This particular machine also has max RAM and the latest 1.2 firmware revision.

“AKAI MPC 4000 with the 8 outputs card and SSD hard drive. Condition is Used. All pads/buttons/pots/faders work. Please note, some buttons “wobble”, but they all work. Also, the faders are not super smooth, but also work. There are some scratches that I tried to take pictures of. Also, the screen is usually perfect, but when you advance to some menus horizontal lines appear. I included a photo of what I am talking about. All in all, a used but fully functional MPC. If you are wanting it to make beats you will love it.”

“This item has a distinguished history and provenance. In the late 1980s this sampler was part of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. In the 1990s it was written off as obsolete and donated to a national arts organisation that sold it when the organisation ceased to function and eventually disbanded. This item is a piece of genuine music technology history.
The sampler is in good working order and functions exactly as it should. This is a digital device (it’s a sampler!) but it feels analogue. All the controls actually do something in real time, so sounds can be moulded and shaped as if they were rubbery 3D objects. The 12 bit resolution is grimy and gritty. It’s not shiny and smooth and polite at all, and the filter is stunning.
There are a few ‘rack rash’ scratches along with stickers relating to PAT testing, etc.”

“This original Akai MPC 1000 sampler/ drum machine is in excellent condition. It features the upgraded pad sensors, 808 style fat pads, newest JJOS2xl 3.69 (paid), new 80 GB hard drive.
The pads feel great, and the machine is responsive as you navigate the menu of JJOS and quickly load samples from the new Hitachi Travelstar hard drive. The CF card reader is perfect condition, with no bent/broken pins. The outputs are perfectly balanced, and every i/o is solid. The clear LCD window has some scratches, but I’m including a new one from MPCstuff.com.
In my workflow, I primarily synced the MPC 1000 to Ableton Live via midi, programming my drums and easily recording that legendary MPC swing in tempo into my Ableton project. Sharing the same software as the MPC 2500, JJOS2XL is still a beast in standalone or hybrid setups.
