The buttons and knobs seems to responds upon pushing. The screen responds when pushing the buttons.
Cosmetically it has scratches, scrapes and scuffs mark also the note variation slider is not in tact. It seems like slider button is not broken but needs to fit back in.

” Up for auction is a blue/red Akai MPC 1000 music production center. First and foremost, the functionality of this machine is what i’d say 85% there. The pad bank buttons are loose, but do trigger efficiently, you just need to give them a hard press. The data wheel is the biggest functionality problem, as it is kinda ” skippy ” and tends to skip over values pretty often, but you can get it to select the value you want. All of the pads trigger samples perfectly, with the exception of pads 1 and 3, which need hard taps to trigger efficiently.
Cosmetically, the machine is in rough condition. There are lots of surface marks all over this machine, as seen in the photos. The red side panels are the only parts of this machine free from marks/scratches.
Please be aware that 128 MBs of memory is installed, as well as the latest operating system.

This thing was used on so many records I did. It’s amazing.
The circuit board under the jog wheel is the main thing you will
need to replace to get this thing working. And some buttons.
The screen has a piece of tape holding onto it (pictured in back)
because the gears lock up and the screen will get stuck up in travel
(have the tape there for safety)
I was just using the machine until several months ago.
Hate to let it go, but it would be great to repair your other 2500
or vice versa.
Lots of scratches all around including the screen,
but it powers up just fine. Mainly you won’t be able
