” AKAI MPC1000, bought second hand and lightly used + did some restoration. Changes made:
* Installed JJ OS2XL. It’s the version with indestructible chopping. Not sure how long license lasts if you ever need to reinstall, but I do have the password and record of my emails from when I bought it.
* Replaced pads with the MPCStuff thick/fat pads
* Replaced side panels w new MPCStuff replacement.
Please note, I have tested item for a while before listing, but it has not been used for a long time. There is one known issue listed clearly below. Outside of that everything works to best of my knowledge, but item is being sold as-is, with no returns.
Known issues:
I found that the audio sometimes drops out over headphones when working. Everything else works during that time (so I can save progress). Rebooting always fixes it but eventually it can happen again. 2 common root cause/fixes I saw online are
* many say it’s likely RAM issue and to replace ram
* some suggest re-install or factory reset OS
Since RAM replacement is not too expensive, I just 10 bucks off my original asking price and only do.9.99 shipping even though will probably be closer to $40-45 based on UPS ground estimate.”
