This portable sampler/sequencer is in excellent condition (apart from the manufacturing fault), and is almost as good as the day I bought it – there is one small scratch, pictured in the 4th photo. Like my other samplers and equipment I’m selling, I haven’t used it much at all. I have only used this in a pet free, smoke free, clean home.

The power supply does not show Akai on it, but it came with it when I bought it new. It is a 12V 600mA supply, but the MPC 500 states it needs a 12V 500mA. This does not affect the unit (it would if the mA of the supply were less than the required 500mA, instead of more). Please Google this to check for yourself if you are not sure. “What a great piece of gear. If you haven’t experienced the joy of working on an MPC60, grab this and take a turn. I took mine, loved every minute of it. But, I feel like my studio is getting a bit excessive, so passing this on to someone who can really put it to work.

Everything works great. It’s got the Vimana OS, which is fantastic. I’m not familiar with any other OS else as that’s what I got it with, but my understanding is that it’s like the linn OS and even perhaps a bit better. All I know is this thing has a great sound to it. Everything functions great. SCSI. Floppy disk works. “Regrettably, I am selling my MPC 2000 Classic. It is a great drum machine, I just found out that I’m more of a software guy. I will assure you that no software can reproduce drums that “knock” as hard as they do with an MPC though.
