“Also S3000xl Sampler – Not Working! NO RESERVE!! Sampler screen is on it’s way out and needs replacing ASAP. It gets a little less readable every time you use it. Sampler is complete but is not 100% assembled. Was going to be a donor machine for a project which never came to be 🙁 Great little project for someone with the time.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Akai S3000XL with 32MB RAM

“Good condition Sampler for the age! Screen is a little dim but backlight works. It comes in original box with manual and 4 Akai floppy disks with various bits and bobs on! It has 32MB of RAM (displays 16mwords).

I’ll also include 9 free other disks. I have no idea if they work or have sounds on but it saves binning them. Works like a dream and comes with a V2 OS floppy also.

If you boot this without a disk in it does get stuck on “waiting for hard disk ready.. skip”. There are tons of forum posts suggesting a SCSI fuse etc however whenever I booted this up I always left the V2 OS disk in and it boots fine. So it’s not a problem for me.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Akai S3000XL with 32MB RAM, EB-16

“For sale is my trusty S3000XL sampler, the PCI SCSI card (Adaptec 2906) I used to interface it with my PC and the all important SCSI cable. I will throw in a CD with the MESA software and a few other useful SCSI/Sampler based apps, the manual and some sample banks.
It has the OS hardwired on a built in chip so no need for the laborious loading of the OS from floppy disk. Just switch it on and it boots straight into OS V2. In fact along with the SCSI interface I never bothered with floppies at all. All samples and programs conveniently stored on the computer and transferred to the sampler via SCSI.

The memory is fully expanded to 32 MB (AKAI talk 16Mwords, see photo). It also has 8 output board installed plus the standard Stereo L/R outs, giving you a total of 10 outputs.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay
