Sadly, the day has come for me to sell my beloved Akai MPC60. I’ve had this awesome machine for over a decade, but for practical reasons, the time has come to let it go.
It’s in great working order, with expected light wear from years of moderate use in a smoke-free environment. All aspects and parts are functional, from the display to the disk drive to the pads, knobs, inputs, outputs, and buttons. The only exception is the number 5 button, which can be sticky sometimes and occasionally requires extra pressure to get a response.
I probably don’t need to tell you that it’s a blast to work with and sounds fantastic, but it is and it does.
The unit has been updated with the version 3.10 software update that includes expanded memory and more. (check out Roger Linn’s website for details about the upgrade features, which are numerous.)
I’m also including a padded carrying case, a print-out of the original manual (very well-written by Roger Linn himself), and a bundle of floppy disks loaded with samples and sounds, including copies of the original demo sample sets that shipped with the unit. “Good condition MPC60 II here for sale. This has maxed out RAM and the 3.1 OS upgrade. The floppy drive has been replaced with a GoTek Floppy emulator that reads and writes to/from a USB drive. This is a vast upgrade from floppy technology that allows easy transport of samples and MPC data to and from your computer. Chop your samples in your DAW, slap em on a thumb drive and plug-and-play on your MPC.
