“I have had this vintage piece of music equipment for some time now. Screen is nice and bright and zero flaws. When I received the mpc, I did not care for how it was painted. So I painted it but never got around to putting better labels on it. They are currently just printed on paper and taped down. It has been upgraded with version 3.1 and has expanded memory as well as the SCSI interface. ” We got this out of a storage unit. Not fully tested, but turns on and works. Will need maintenance. Comes with Zip drive, Zip drive power supply, 5 new Zip disks still in plastic cover, 6 sound floppy disks, and 1 zip driver floppy disk.

– 3 of the floppy disks loads. The 3 floppy disks with the blue tape doesn’t work.

– Will play sounds, and I programmed and played back a quick 2 bar loop.

*** The Play/Start button is very loose, and crooked.

*** The master volume is misaligned, and crackles a lot when turning.

*** The floppy drive does work, however there is a crack on the front and the plastic cover is missing from the eject tab. It will still eject the floppy disk, but you have to press down on the metal tab and grab the disk to take it out.

*** The sync and sampling functions have not been tested. None of the individual outs or the foot switch have been tested.

*** Zip drive turns on and reads disks, but did not test with formatting or saving to disk.

*** 3 of the plastic feet underneath are a little loose, but it doesn’t affect the balance of the MPC.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay

Lot of 2 Akai MPC 60II units

This auction is for Two (2) MPC 60 IIs. They are both used. Both have had the screen foils replaced and were serviced within the last five years. Neither has been used much since then as the intent was to have them as back up and alternate machines.

(1) has the 2.10 OS.

(2) has the 3.10d OS as well and the SCSI card. The volume knob broke off while in storage. The knob itself will be included and shipped to the winner. The bottom of the stem that the volume knob is connected to is still intact and can potentially be turned with a flathead screwdriver… but probably should just be replaced.

I never used them much at all after having had them serviced and I cannot test them as I currently have no floppies. Cosmetically they have seen better days but are not in as bad shape as some we’ve seen.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay
