“THIS LISTING IS FOR AN AKAI MPC2000 SAMPLER SEQUENCER THAT IS IN GOOD PHYSICAL CONDITION BUT NEEDS SOME REPAIRS TO MAKE IT FULLY FUNCTIONAL. IT BOOTS UP NORMALLY BUT THE LOWER 3/4 OF THE DISPLAY HAS BAD PIXELS MAKING THAT PART DIFFICULT TO READ, AND PAD 7 DOES NOT TRIGGER. NOTE THAT THERE IS A DENT IN THE FRONT RIGHT CORNER OF THE TOP PANEL AS SHOWN. THE BUTTONS, CONTROLS AND NOTE VARIATION SLIDER SEEM TO BE RESPONSIVE AND I WAS ABLE TO RECORD BOTH A SEQUENCE AND AN AUDIO SAMPLE.

” This had always worked perfectly fine and then after being sat in a cupboard for a year or so it now won’t turn on. The screen flickers and led’s light up but it won’t boot up. So it’ll need a repair or can be used for parts.

“Here for sale is the MPC 2000 classic sampler and drum machine. This is a great Piece to get started on. It’s a fantastic machine. The condition is good but does have a few issues. The plastic screen cover has come away and does slide around when touched. I’m sure this will be an easy fix. Other than that the screen is good. Nice a clear as seen in photos. There are a few scratches here and there but nothing major. Disk drive is working pads, buttons are all good. No 8 output extension unfortunately, and this does not come with a Zip drive (but I’ll throw is a few spare Zip disks) This machine really has a great sound! Here is my MPC 2000 STUDIO version! First off, let’s point out the ONLY BAD thing since the good outweighs it by far. The LCD screen has some sort of discoloration going on. However,ALL the pixels are still working so the text is still very much visible. I’ll leave the issue to your discretion.

Now, onto the good: This MPC comes with MAX RAM, 8 outputs, SMPTE board AND SMPTE board CHIP(see attached pictures)! I will also include power cord and OS 1.72 FLOPPY DISK!
Cosmetically this thing is a 10/10. There are no screws missing inside nor outside. ALL buttons and pads work flawlessly (none are sticky nor broken). The pads have very very VERY little use. They literally still feel new as well as buttons and everything else. There is NO hissing/distortion/interference coming from any audio jacks. The slider is perfect and functional as well as the data wheel. ALL LEDs are perfect too and light up bright. Just to summarize, All connectors, buttons, slider, pads, LEDs and LCD work.
