” AKAI MPC 1000 For Parts or Repair.
– The main problem with this unit is the damaged Main Board PCB which got scratched. As you can see in the pictures, the unit still powers on, however no information is displayed
– I have been told that for those knowledgeable this can be an easy fix with some solder, unfortunately that kind of thing is not in my skill set. I had a friend attempt some soldering to no avail as seen in the pictures. If you have the know-how this could be a simple enough job for you
– An alternative solution to this would be to just purchase anew PCB main board for the MPC 1000 and swap with the one in the unit. There is a board for sale here on eBay. This unit and the PCB board would still be cheaper deal than most second hand
MPCs
– A more minor problem is the ram holding slot is broken, this is what caused the issue of the scratch as the ram would not stay down in place. Online advice was to use a hot glue gun to hold the ram in place which worked fine, though the board ended up getting scratched when having to move it
– The catch on one of the side panels is broken, and as you can see, not the black from the original MPC Black. I had a friend who wished to custom his blue model with my black panels since mine was not in useable condition. This broken panel can be fastened on or a new one purchased cheaply from MPCStuff if desired
– The back panel cover for above the ram slot is missing
If you are looking at this, I do not need to tell you this is a classic machine. I would consider buying the PCB Main Board myself, but am coming down with samplers as is, and am finally moving this on as gear has continued to stack
The sale includes a couple of memory cards and the max expandable ram (not pictured)The unit has JJOS installed, though unfortunately I have no way of knowing what exact version in it’s current state
