Akai MPC 1000 Project Machine

“You are bidding on well-worn MPC1000 that is in need of some work.

I’ve had this MPC since about 2007 or 2008. The stock pads and sensors have been replaced with the MPCStuff upgrade, and are working quite well. I had upgraded the operating system to JJO2XL and subsequently JJOS3. It is still possible to use either operating system, as it is possible to switch at boot-up.

As it stands, a number of the plastic buttons that are required to operate the unit successfully need to be replaced. These include the Main button, the Shift button, and possibly several others. As it stands, the unit cannot be used as it normally would have been, as buttons do not respond in an otherwise predictable fashion, rendering the unit highly dysfunctional and difficult to use at present.

I had considered repairing the unit before attempting to sell it, but I work approximately 70 hours a week, and I frankly just don’t think I have enough time to dedicate to ordering the replacement parts from MPCStuff and doing the requisite repair. As such, I am choosing to sell this unit as is / for parts / not working. I suspect that the requisite repair is not that involved, and if you are somewhat handy, this ultimately may turn out to be an incredible deal. As it stands, bid at your own risk, as this unit otherwise currently does not function in a predictable manner and should be looked at as unusable until repair.

In all, the unit is in fair cosmetic condition. The pads are clearly well-worn at this point, and I had also removed the rubber feet from the back and put velcro on the backplate, as I’d had it stored in a DJ coffin previously. This unit has not left my house for any appreciable amount of time.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
